with the BCD-996XT in a mobile environment?
I have the Maxrad BMAX-SCAN-1000 and it bites the big one. It is a
unity gain antenna (no gain at all) and I knew that when I bought it.
The rubber duck on my handheld PSR-800 far outperforms the mobile
antenna mounted on the right front fender of the car. I live in a very strong
signal area and most of the time mobile reception is noisy and scratchy sounding
and even cuts out completely during a conversation.
I am very disappointed with the BMAX-SCAN-1000 and would like to
replace it with another mobile that has some db gain and will fit
onto the NMO (New Motorola) type mount.
Any suggestions?
